David Andrew Jackson

April 27, 1946 — March 12, 2024

Jesup

On Saturday, April 27, 1946 around 1:55 pm in Odum, Georgia, the late George H. and Lucille Bell Jackson announced the arrival of a baby boy named David Andrew Jackson!

David's heart was as huge as the clear blue skies and his arms could stretch as wide as the oceans.  He was a strong, determined, dependable, hard working, and occasionally stubborn man. David kept it real.  If he did not like something he would definitely let you know.

David attended Appling County Consolidated High School.  Afterwords, he enlisted in the United States Air Force from 1964-1968.  David retired after 40 years of working at ITT Rayonier in the maintenance department specializing in pipe fitting.

Retirement did not stop "determined" David.  He enjoyed designing and building whatever his imagination, a drill, or a welding machine would allow him to create.  Night fishing at the St. Simon's pier, sailing his boat on the Atlantic Ocean or "shooting the breeze" with family and friends are other ways Daid enjoyed his life.  Oh, let us not forget those lottery tickets he liked.

David is being welcomed to his heavenly home by his parents; brothers, Hayward Jackson, Quillar Jackson, Willie and Barney Lett; sister, Annie Mae Austin.

David's legacy will continue to thrive through his children, Gregory (Judith) Jackson of Newington, GA, Tammie (Victor) Lee of Snellville, GA, Teresa (Kenneth) Hughes of Decatur, GA, Tara Stewart, Debrielle Jackson and Kymberly Jackson, all of Jesup, GA; grandchildren, Ryan Jackson, Malik Stewart, Dylan (Cikylie) Hughes, Dustyn Hughes, Gabrielle Jackson and Olivia Jackson; siblings, Josephine Williams, Clifton Jackson, Devora (Eugene) Smith, Aldonia Bennett, Carlotta Barfield, Margaret Spearmon, Shelia (Donald) Spellman, Sylvester (Mamie) Lett, Jack Lett and Joe Lett.  His legacy will also thrive through his nephews, nieces, friends and his Gardi community family.
