Peaceful Transition from a Life-Fulfilled

And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.- Phillipians 4:7

Mother Malisse Ware Brinson (Ellis) was born April 6, 1929 in Toombs County, Georgia to the late James Reynolds and Josephine McGee. She was raised by Clarence Ware and Doshie Drink. With limited education, she worked as a care giver all her life. She was better known as "Momma" to those around her. She would never leave anyone hungry or empty handed. She was known for her giving and feeding others.

"Momma" was known for her pecan sandies, red velvet cake and most importantly her biscuits for which her son, George, claimed she only made for him. Avon was her middle name, she made sure her family and friends had a supply of Skin-So Soft. Mother Malisse made sure every time her daughter, Eather Jean, came home to Baxley from Connecticut, she left with an extra bag of sausage, cheese and vanilla extract.

Even as her health declined when her children would visit, they would expect all their favorites. She continued to be a pillar as a resident of The Pavillion. She would said "I need a refrigerator in my room so my guests can have something cold to drink". That was Mother Malisse, she was always giving and put others before herself. Until her hospitalization, she enjoyed weekly lunches with her Aunt, the late Mamie McNeil and Dorcil Wilson.

Her Ministry lived on at The Pavillion. During her stay, her son, Anthony, would sit down with her daily and read the Bible; her son, Otis, would visit and cater to her by giving her tender touches and relished her water. Her oldest and youngest sons, George and Stanford, were there by her side as she gave her daughter, Eather Jean, words of comfort as she transitioned peacefully.

Loving memories of Mother Malisse will be cherished by her loving and devoted children: Eather Jean (Joe)of Farmington, Connecticut, George (Mary) of Atlanta, Georgia, James Anthony Brinson and Otis Mincey Brinson, both of Baxley, Georgia and Stanford (Beronica) of Macon, Georgia; grandchildren: Sabrina Reynolds, Cacina Megejume (Justin), Recina Reynolds, Melissa Gusby (Vincent), Adrian Reynolds, Avery Reynolds, April Reynolds, Sherman Reynolds, James Reynolds, Josephine Brinson, OJ Brinson, Nathan Nance, Lawrence Nance, Rosalind Hagins, and Curtis Hagins; sister: Sara (Leroy) of Washington, D.C.; God-Daughter: Eartha Daniels of Jacksonville, FL; Niece: Cheryl Ponds (Tony) of Washington, DC; Nephew, Scott Ellison: (Tasheaya) of Houston, TX; She will be treasured by her 41 great-grandchildren from Georgia, Connecticut, and New Jersey and prized by her three great-great grandchildren; Selina Owens, Serenity Howard and Jordan NeSmith. She will also be cherished by York Reynolds (ex son-in-law), cousins, other family members and friends.
