Marvin “Teet” Ryals was born in Alma, Georgia on September 2, 1955 to the parentage of the late Henry Ryals, Sr. and the late Charlie Mae Ryals. Marvin was called home to rest from all his labor on August 7, 2021.
Marvin graduated with the Class of 1973 from the Appling County High School. During his high school career, he held an undefeated track and field record in cross country. He was very talented in baseball, boxing, and track and field.
Marvin was united in holy matrimony to Maretha Cray Ryals for 36 years. He was employed for several years with Hazlehurst Mills and Harris Waste Management. He retired from International Press and Sheer as a certified welder and painter.
Marvin loved spending quality time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were fishing, hunting, and breeding pit bulls. He enjoyed riding down dirt roads with his grandchildren while listening to one of his favorite artists, Sam Cook.
Marvin leaves to cherish his life and memories with his wife, Maretha Ryals; children: Kerry Ryals, Nicole Fullmore, Bridgette Sailem, Maurice Tobler, Melody Ryals, Amy Ryals, Rashawn Fisher and Sammy Degrace; 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; siblings: Mattie Crawford (David), Henry Ryals, Sr. (Kathy), Linda Hall, Carolyn Copeland (Terry), Charles Ryals (Sarah), Lisa Stevens, Chip Ryals (Evette), and Kristy Bennett (Reuben); grandson he raised like a son, Kemoni Ryals; sisters and brothers-in-law: Charlotte McGregory, Addie Nobles (James), John Cray (Esther), Willie Carl Cray (Carolyn), and Timothy Cray, Sr.; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
