Ms. MaryLouise “Pargie” Butler
Mrs. Mary Louise Butler arrived on this earth February 4, 1936,
the third born of Annie and William Scott. Her childhood years were
first spent in Greensboro, NC, and later Littleton, NC.
Mary Louise was united in Holy Matrimony to Reuben Z. Butler,
Sr., on June 23, 1959. To this union two sons, Reuben Jr. and the late
Aaron Keith, were born; a third son was added later, Jerome Porter.
Reuben was her friend and soul mate until her departure.
During her adult years, Mary was employed as a beautician.
While married to Reuben, during his military career, they traveled
throughout the United States and overseas. In 1995, she retired from
the Navy Exchange in Orlando, Florida.
Mary was a member of Tangelo Baptist Church in Orlando,
Florida. She was a spiritual woman of faith and compassion. She was
actively involved in her church and community. She worked with the
“Mission Friend-Youth”, served on the communion committee, and
sang in the choir. She was also a member of Tangelo Park’s Civic
Association. She will be remembered for her love of people, sense of
humor and invaluable life lessons she shared and passed on to family
and friends. She was known as an outstanding cook, and her well-
known “Mac & Cheese” was her highlight. She was not fond of a big
ceremony and enjoyed working behind the scenes.

was preceded in death by her son, Aaron Keith Butler, sisters, Barb
Jean Cameron and Grace Rawlings; brothers, William, Jr. (T-Man),
