Mrs. Mamie Alice McNeil, the Matriarch of the family, was born on January 6, 1925 to Laura and Howard Reynolds in Baxley, Georgia. She was known to others as Aunt Horn, Aunt Mamie, Alice and Mom Mamie.
Mamie Alice McNeil was a lovely person. She was a Founder member and Mother of Grace Missionary Baptist Church Independent. She was also a Prayer Warrior, Sunday School attendant, Church attendant, Prayer Meeting/Bible Study attendant, Devotional Leader, and Vacation Bible School attendant. She attended all the churches in the community.
She loved all her children, nieces, and nephews. She told everybody about Jesus. She was the mother of "Ten Mile." She was an Auntie and Caregiver to many people in Baxley, Georgia. She was a giving person and she gave to anybody and everybody. Then too, she loved everybody and she would tell you "It was nothing you could do about it."
She shared her life and dedicated her life to her family, church and community. She was inspirational in starting The Annual Spring Prayer Meeting that consist of over 12 churches. She was a member of the Parker Harrell Progressive Club and last but not least, she was an active participant in Noon Day Prayer at Harper Chapel.
