A Time To Live: Arthur Williams, Jr. , was born on September 13, 1930 in Baxley, GA to the late Arthur Williams, Sr. and Hazel I. Williams. He attended the local schools in Appling County, GA. He worked as a supervisor at Plant Hatch in Baxley, Georgia with Southern Company Services until his retirement after working over 25 years. He was a member of Thankful New Jersey Missionary Baptist Church but later joined Greater Faith Temple Church of God In Christ in Baxley, GA, under the leadership of his son, Pastor Norris Williams, Sr. He served there faithfully until he entered into eternal rest on April 26, 2014. A Time To Love: Arthur, Jr. met and married the late Verdell C. Williams in his youth. They were married for 43 years and to that union 12 children were born. Out of the 12 children produced a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. He also had a multitude of family and friends. He was not only a father and grandfather to his immediate children but he was a father and grandfather to many of his nieces and nephews. In fact, he was an intricate part and a present day pillar of the Jack Summerall Clan. He supported the Jack Summerall Family Reunion down through the years. He was loved by all. The following relatives preceded him in death: Verdell C. Williams (wife); Arthur Williams, Sr. and Hazel Howard Williams (parents): Mayola Bryant, Harvey Williams, Audrey Williams, Calvina Williams, Ardelia Butts, and Albertha Williams Price (Siblings). A Time to Leave: Known as " The Colonel", "Pops", and "Grandaddy", he was loved by anyone that he encountered and he showed that same kind of love. He leaves to mourn and cherish his memories ... Williams; Carl Williams; Jefthor (Joan) Williams; Sister Brenda (Glenn) Dunlap; Elder/Pastor Norris (Gail) Williams, Sr.; Terry (Diane) Williams; Vernell Williams; and Stanford (Lynette) Williams, all of Baxley, GA; Mr. & Mrs. Melvin Williams and Mr. & Mrs. Cliston Williams of Lawrenceville, GA; Angela Randolph of Nashville, TN; Grace Williams of Baxley, GA. Sisters and Brothers: Mary Hairston of Baxley, GA; Shelton (Lula Mae) Williams of Jeffersonville, GA; and Hazel Frances Williams, of Philadelphia, PA. Sisters and Brothers in-laws: Florine Smith of Baxley, GA; Isabell (Lester) Moses of Jesup, GA; and Clarence (Lela) Copeland of Buffalo, NY. Two Aunts: Addie Hunter and Drissie Williams, both of Baxley, GA; and a host of grand children, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
