Mr. Charles Edward Williams

Charles Edward Williams was born on April 23, 1944 to the late James C. Williams and Irene F. Williams. He was ushered into the Lord's arms on November 19, 2015. Charles graduated from the Appling County Consolidated School in 1962. He was united in Holy Matrimony to Carrie Watson on January 5, 1977. Charles loved to play the guitar and was an avid lover of music. He was a guitarist with the group Miami Missionaires and at the First Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church for several years. He joined the St. James AME Church and served on the Music Ministry as a musician there as well. He was employed as a painter with the Appling Healthcare System until his health began to decline. Many times Charles would sit on the porch with his friends and reminisce about the old days. He was passionate about spending time with his grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, brothers--James Williams, Virgle Williams, Jack Williams, George Williams & Jeff Williams; Sisters--Allifair Jones, Jerlene Barron, Lillie Jackson & Harolyn Freeman. He leaves to cherish his memories: His Loving & Devoted Wife of 38 years: Carrie W. Williams of Baxley, GA. Children: Clifton Williams (Sharna) of Wilson, NC; Tabitha Braynon (David), Francinia Williams, Regina Jones & Bruce Williams, all of Miami, FL; Mary P. Stewart & Charles E. Williams, II (Barbara), both of Atlanta, GA; Joel C. Williams of Georgetown, SC; Cedrick Williams of Baxley, GA. Sisters: Ophelia Walker (Eugene) of Baxley, GA, Zora E. Brown of Miami, FL & Versie Brown of Atlanta, GA. Special granddaughter who he reared: Jessica Williams of Jacksonville, FL. Close friend like a brother: Donnie Reaves of Baxley, GA, Special friend: Quincy Bennett of Baxley, GA. Special nephew and niece: Moses & Ida Mae Ogden of Baxley, GA. He also leaves to cherish his memories seventeen grandchildren, thirteen greatgrandchildren (currently expecting three additional), nieces, nephews, cousins and sorrowing friends. i
