Mr. Ernest Lee Clemons was born on July 4, 1948 to the late Rufus White and Easter Thomas. He attended and graduated from Appling County High School. He was a faithful employee at Hazlehurst Mills for 36 years. He was affectionately known by his CB name "Kool Hand Luke." He was loved by everyone who knew him.
Ernest entered into eternal rest leaving all distress behind at the Community Hospice in Vidalia, Georgia on January 27, 2017.
Ernest was proceeded in death by the following relatives: his parents - Rufus White and Easter Thomas; six sisters - Berthola Vann, Clara Mae Jones, Editha Mae Reynolds, May alderman, Ida Shell, Carolyn Austin; five brothers - Ike Rufus White II, Ira Clemons, Earnest Clemons, C. W. White, O. C. White; son - James Wesley Clemons; daughter - Joyce Ann Clemons.
He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters: Virginia (Rudolph) Ferguson of Glenwood, GA, Tracey Clemons, Felicia Clemons, Angela Clemons, all of Baxley, GA and Sherri (William) Bailey of Alamo, GA;
three sons: Chris (Natasha) Clemons, Sr. of Baxley, GA, Kendray (Gwen) King and Shunta Clemons, both of Alamo, GA; three close grandchildren: Lereatha Clemons, Thaddus Russell and Johnathan Barnes; one brother: Lenard Thomas of Alma, GA; four sisters: Martha Allen of Killeen, TX, Rena Frazier of Midway, GA, Bertha Hill and Nell (Yarp) Conaway, both of Graham, GA; one sister-in-law: Mary White of Baxley, GA;
Twenty-eight grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren. He is also leaving to cherish many fond memories his beloved host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
