In as much as it pleased the Almighty God to call from our midst our dearly beloved, Mr. Joseph Lee "Joe Boy" Miller, Jr. who departed this life on Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the Appling Healthcare System. Joseph was born May 24, 1958 in Appling County (Baxley) Georgia to the parentage of Mr. Joseph Lee Miller, Sr. and Mrs. Gladys Calhoun (Miller) Collins. Joseph joined the Upper Room Temple Church in Baxley, Georgia at an early age. Later in life he moved to Glenville, Georgia where he joined the First African Missionary Baptist Church. After returning to Baxley he joined the Holy Ghost Temple of Apostolic Faith Church. Joseph was united in Holy Matrimony to Mrs. Vernell Robinson Miller. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Mrs. Susie Ann Hansley, Mrs. Mary Ann Collins and brother: Mr. Daniel Miller. He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Mrs. Vernell Robinson Miller of Baxley, GA, two step sons: Randy Robinson and Lewis Allen Barron, Jr. all of Baxley, GA. Four brothers: H.J. (LaNera) Miller of Columbia, S.C., Elex (Jackie) Miller of Savannah, GA, LeOtis (Kim) Williams of Baxley, GA and Wendall (Laricia) Williams of Atlanta, GA. One sister: Mary Ann (Pete) Smith of Tampa, FL and Caretakers: Billy and Etha Jean Carter of Baxley, GA. Six Aunts: Mildred Cain of Glenville, GA, as a loving and devoted mother, Betty Richardson, Almaree Miller, Lynette Holmes and Betty Miller all of Baxley, GA and Nora Lee Calhoun of Ludowici, GA. Four Uncles: Roosevelt Calhoun of Ft. Pierce, FL, Warren (Charlene) Calhoun of Cobbtown, GA, Willard Jackson of North Dakota and Elder Gregory (Sadie) Russell of Baxley, GA. Brothers-in-Laws: Clint Robinson of Baxley, GA, Bishop Robinson of Jacksonville, FL and Phillip Collins of Jesup, GA. Eight grandchildren, special people in his life, Maude King and Ida Mae Wooten, host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and sorrowing friends.
