Mrs. Ethel Holmes Wilcox

Mrs. Ethel Holmes Wilcox, 95 of SURRENCY passed on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at the Appling Pavilion in Baxley. Mrs. Wilcox was born February 16, 1919 in Telfair County (Lumber City) Georgia. She was the daughter of Charlie and Lou Holmes. She later moved to Appling County where she met and married the late Waymon Wilcox. Mrs. Wilcox was a faithful member of the Surrency Grove Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Those left to mourn her passing and cherish her memories are two daughters: Gloristine (Jack) Jones and Portia (Clifford) Wooden. Seven sons: Quanida Wilcox, Bobby (Johnetta) Wilcox, Stanford (Gloria) Wilcox, James Lamar (Margaret) Wilcox, James Lerico (Willie Mae) Wilcox, Tony Wilcox and Donnie (Faye) Wilcox. Two daughters-in-laws: Leila Bell Wilcox and Mary Wilcox. She also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. A special granddaughter: Tremelia (Tarsha) Wilcox and God daughter: Yvette White. Other loving relatives and friends will also miss her dearly.
