Vernell Miller

Vernell R. Miller, born in Baxley on April 11, 1956 and died on March 12, 2025. She was the beloved daughter of Bishop Roberts Sr. and Hattie Queen Roberts, both whom preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joe Miller. Vernell peacefully entered eternal rest, leaving behind a profound legacy of love, faith, and strength that will forever be cherished by her family and all who knew her.

Vernell leaves to cherish her memory her fiancé George Adams; two children, Randy Roberts and Lewis A. Baron Jr., all of Baxley; one brother, Bishop Roberts Jr. of Jacksonville FL: 6 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were blessed to know her. She is also survived by three sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Roberts of Screven; Hellen Roberts of Jacksonville, FL; and Alphanise Roberts of Odum.

Vernell was the life of the party, always bringing laughter and joy to every room she entered. Along with her vibrant spirit, she was known for her scrumptious cornbread, which she made with love and shared with everyone. Her cooking, like her personality, was warm, inviting, and filled with love. As we honor her life, we are reminded of the words in Proverbs 31:31 (KJV): " Giver her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates." Though she is no longer with us, Vernell's love, strength, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We will miss her dearly, and her love will remain with us always.
