Funeral services for Mr. William McMorris will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at the Zion Chapel Baptist Church, 513 E. 14th Street in Alma, GA - 11:00 AM. Burial will be held in the Morris Still Cemetery in Appling County, GA.

Mr. William McMorris, 77 was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Abraham Y.J. McMorris and Mrs. Ida B. Vaughn in Surrency (Appling County) Georgia on March 6, 1938.

Mr. McMorris transitioned from earth to eternity on Wednesday, March 2, 2016 at the Twin Oaks Convalescent Center in Alma, Georgia.

William received his formal education from the Appling County School System. William was a devoted member of the Zion Chapel Missionary Baptist Church in Alma, Georgia where he served faithfully as a Deacon.

In addition to his parents William was preceded in death by his brother, Johnny Vaughn; daughters: Debra Sanders, Doris McMorris, Vanessa McMorris, Minnie Lee McMorris and son: Daniel McMorris.

Deacon McMorris leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving children: William (Martha Jean) McMorris of Alma, GA., Ophelia (Sam) Hobbs of Douglas, GA. and Martha Ann Byrd of Lake City, FL. Two sisters-in-law: Pearl Johnson and Ann Platt. A special cousin: Cordelia Foster.

Ten (10) grandchildren: KyJuna McMorris, Annies McMorris, William E. McMorris, Michael Byrd, Lakisha McMorris, Joe Gary Hayes, Steven Davis, Jason Carter, Shacondrea Godwin, Sandrell Hobbs and eighteen (18) great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
